Hima Cultural Area

• The sixth Saudi site registered on the World Heritage List. 
• Hima is located in an arid mountainous region in southwestern Saudi Arabia. 
• The area is full of antiquities that have not yet been excavated. 
• The Hima Cultural Area includes a large collection of images engraved on rocks depicting hunting, animals, plants and lifestyles of a culture that spanned 7,000 years without interruption. 
• This site is located in the oldest known toll station, found on one of the important ancient caravan routes. 
• Hima Well dates back at least 3,000 years, and still produces fresh water today. 
• It includes writings on rocks in several scripts, including Musnad script, Aramaic-Nabataean script, South Arabic script, Thamudic script, Greek script and Arabic script.
